For instance when I made my preliminary task, it required only very short amount of time (less than an hour) and the less use of effects. I also did not have to worry about the kinds of voices I used from people as it was not essential. This did gave me the impression once I was doing my radio the importance of sound effects and editing. It in fact took me a whole day to complete the radio. Learning back from my preliminary task, I was able to move on to the advanced task on making my radio.

AS Evaluation- What I got out of my preliminary task
In comparion to my preliminary task and my actual radio work I felt I had achieved a lot. In comparison, my preliminary task was very brief and small compared to my radio. But it however still got me to undertand the important techniques such as the use of Vox pops, sound effects and edits.

AS Evaluation- Representation
During research there was a clear and essential task to pursue. I had to find the key social audience that would be best represented by my radio. I went through a number of different radio stations, national and local, and came with many different sorts of factors, One key factor is the type of presenter. His voice, tone and personality was the driving description of the audience that listen to him. Listening to radio stations like Capital had presenters who spoke in a hackney accent. Whereas radio presenters from LBC spoke with a more formal accent. I decided that in order to make my radio have its representation, I had to go through a list of people in the college whose voices would be ideal.
As seen on my list of voices, I came up with who would star in my radio. A majority of the voices tended to have a softer sort of accent but less formal. That was when I realised that perhaps I should make my radio along the lines of Capital having listeners. I put myself for news presenter. My tone was slightly formal (needed for someone who announces the news in my opinion). I chose Elliot Soards for the beginning part of my radio where he announced what music the audience were just listening too. If you notice, his voice tends to be more softer and friendly. Not just the presenter but also the track that was played: Timber, Pitbull ft Kesha. The music aired on the radio station also shows the representation as younger audience tend to listen to pop music that are in the top this year.

AS- Target audience
My target audience was aimed at young males aged between 18-35 in Hertfordshire. Examples that showed why it was aimed at young males was that one of my news buletins had a sports news on involving football, an interest popular amongst males.
Notice how they speak with their tone; informal and football language. This shows the target audience as indeed men aged 18-35. As I have said before this is a similar news channel to capital in terms of music and news bulletins, with the the exception of gender.

AS Evaluation- In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Before even getting down to what ideas I had for my radio coursework I had to be cautious first with the very basic research of conventions with news and media. First I had to look the main five Ws:
1. What
2. Where
3. Who
4. When
5. Why
I then had to understand that news is pretty much detrimined geogriphically and culturally to the audience. This was then where I came to the conclusion that what was "newsworthy" was determiend either geographically or locally
Then I began my research on what kind of radio station I was going for. This all depended on what kind of presenter was conducting the broadcast, what his personalty was like whether it was formal or not. This lead me to another conclusion that this determines the kind of audience which I will later mention about in a separate post. I made research on numerous radio stations and noted down the repitition of media conventions used.

My first radio task was a preliminary task. I had learnt a lot of vital tasks which would help me create my real radio course work. The key concepts I developed whilst making the preliminary tasks was the sound bites and the editing used. For instance with commentators, their voices tend to have their voices slightly muffled. With the help of these edits I managed to make my preliminary task look authentic. I also learnt the importance of jingles which would help me use a good jingle for my real radio.
To prove my point, in my radio we had adverts which sounded authentic and realistic. For instance, I chose Alex (a man with a deep and solemn voice). This is how his voice sounded without any sound effects. I have also added on the voices of Sam Flitterman and Elliot Soards without editing. If you then listen to the whole advert itself, it sounds more realistic as a car crash and backfround noise from inside a car has been added.

Intended Audience
In order to get sorted with creating my course work, I must be aware of the audience I intend to target. They deterime my bulletin and station as it all depends on what they would normally listen to. For instance if it was an 80s music station then my targeted audience would be 30-40 year olds. I would then need to communicate through to them to the type of language they would normally be used to hearing so when announcing bulletins, perhaps I would say it to them in a formal manor rather than modern use.
The audiences I intend to attract are late teens to their early 30s. The gender would be from both. Examples of radio stations similar to my idea are Capital FM and Heart FM. Here is a copy of their service sheets to which I plan to have similar to theirs.

Chris Logan and Alex Jones
Chris Logan's character was based on the theory conspiracist, Alex Jones. They have such similarities one could say that Logan was the key inspiration based on Alex Jones.

Differences in terms of representation:
BBC Radio 2:
- The Presenter speaks with a serious tone
- Language is direct and formal
Talk Sport:
- There is a little bit of banter amongst the presenters announcing the news bulletin
- Language tends to have very few slang.
- The tone of the voice is less serious
Capital:
- There is huge amounts of banter amongst the news presenter
- The language is informal.. use slang terms such as yo, my brother from another mother, waste man etc.
- When announcing the news, the tone is still informal.

Advert analysis on Capital
Compare the Meerkat
One of the UK's favorite character representing the car insurance "compare the meerkat". Overall it is a positive advert announcing to the audience to go on to the website for cheap car insurance.
(Carphone Warehouse- its a miracle) Mobile phones are very familiar towards the type of audience that Capital get normally. The advert also has a positive sounding.
