Chris Logan: "I'm here all day telling the good people who've come out here to protest here about the way our politicians and Apple and Google wanna take over our lives."

Keith McQueen: The Lords of the galaxy trilogy is back and returning to its home, in the heart of Hertfordshire.

Director (from later): "In January 2015, I'll begin filming for what will be the first new Lords of the Galaxy movie for 20 years."

Keith McQueen: 15 people have been arrested after a Cannabis factory's discovered in Watford.

Policeman from later in script: "This is another measure to curb the availability of drugs to the public, especially children in our local schools."

Keith McQueen: And in sport, Chesham vs Welwyn match has been called off after a violent clash between the two team fans.

Manager (from later): "It's a disgrace that we've got a minority of fans like this. Football is not about violence. Its about competition, passion and banter.

(Music ends)

Good evening, I'm Keith McQueen, it's 6 o'clock. Crowds and demonstrators have been gathering outside the Royal Hotel in St Albans this morning to protest against a controversial event taking place within the building. The Sibelius conference, bringing together world leaders and representatives from some of the largest companies in the world, takes place every year in different locations around the world. The conference is widely seen as controversial because of its secrecy. American shock-jock presenter Chris Logan's been a leading campaigner against what he sees as major international conspiracies. He arrived to address the crowd this morning. Our correspondent Graham Smith was at the hotel earlier and spoke to Chris and some of the demonstrators.

(FX; crowd chanting Go home Sibelius)

Chris Logan (through megaphone/PA system): I'm here to give you the truth, the real truth. Not the falsehoods that Google or Apple tell you and the politicians who brownnose them. Your government are listening to your phone calls, your government are planting bugs where you sleep and a lot of their plans are being put together behind these doors here.

Graham Smith: Chris Logan is a passionate shock jock and conspiracy theorist, known for his controversial opinions on government secrecy. He arrived this morning to address the crowd and give his support to the protest. I spoke to him just after he addressed the crowd and offered his support.

Chris Logan: Well I don't need to tell you Graham since you're a news reporter for the mainstream mass media that lie to us every day, helping the governments of the world spread their lies and disinformation. It's all on the public record, and I'm here all day telling the good people who've come out here to protest here about the way our politicians and Apple and Google wanna take over our lives. We need our rights protected, we wanna be free citizens of our countries whether it's here or America or anywhere else in the world.

Graham Smith: That was American shock jock and activist Chris Logan talking to me about the conference which continues all this week. Graham Smith, outside the Royal Hotel in St Albans.

News presenter: Now, if you're over 20 years old you'll probably remember what was one of the biggest and most successful Hollywood franchises of all time. The Lords of the Galaxy trilogy dominated cinemas over the world over 20 years ago, but it's been announced this morning that the franchise will continue with another trilogy, and that the 3 new films will be coming home to Hertfordshire once again. Shenley Studios, where the originals were filmed, will again host the cast and crew for the filming which will begin shooting next year. Director Scott Griffin, who started the franchise in 1984, made the announcement at the studios earlier today.

*sound of camera shots and background noise*

Scott Griffin: "I understand that people do look back and enjoy the Lord of the Galaxy movies and there have been rumors that I am going continue the story of Jack Parker. Well I'm here to address those rumors and to proudly announce that in January 2015, I'll begin filming for what will be the first new Lords of the Galaxy movie for 20 years, and we're coming home to Shenley Studios, which is a place that's meant a lot to me.

News Presenter: The director was sketchy on the details of how the original story would continue, or about which of the original cast will be returning, but has promised fans that all will be revealed over the coming months.

News Presenter: In other news, fifteen men aged between 19 and 25 have been arrested by police on suspicion of growing cannabis. A factory in a house in Radlett containing over 400 cannabis plants was raided last night by Hertsmere police. Sgt Neil Morris, who lead the investigation, told reporters that this was part of wider action to control the county's drug trade.

*cars driving by, perhaps some wind in the background, and murmuring*

Sgt Morris: I can confirm to members of the public that the abandoned house that our police forces raided last night was a cannabis factory. We can confirm that 15 men have been arrested in suspicion of drug manufacture and 4 people have been arrested for the dealing of those drugs. Thanks to my colleagues, along with the Hertsmere Drugs Action Squad, this is another measure to curb the availability of drugs to the public, especially children in our local schools.

Keith McQueen: In sport, another local football match has been marred by violence. The friendly between Chesham and Welwyn FC was interrupted last night after a pitch invasion, marking the 3rd incident of this kind at Oakland Park Stadium since the beginning of the season in August. Our Sports Correspondent Andy Scholes has more, Andy.
Andy Scholes: Thanks Keith. An extraordinary event yesterday with another local game postponed. Before the game had even got to half-time, all hell had broken loose as both fans ran onto the pitch in the 39th minute following an exchange of abusive chanting between both team's crowds before the match started. The historical rivalry between the two teams has already resulted in 4 incidents of violence in the last 5 seasons. No-one was seriously hurt but 20 people were treated for light injuries and 40 arrests were made. I spoke to Chesham manager Terry Mitchell at Oakland Park earlier today, and he told me was disgusted by some of his team's supporters.

Terry Mitchell: "It's a disgrace that we've got a minority of fans like this. Football is not about violence. Its about competition, passion and banter. It's unfair on the lads to have to stop playing a great game of football just for their safety. No one needs to stop playing football all of a sudden over some yobbos. I'm doing what I can to make sure we've got more police and more security staff at the stadium from now on."

Andy Scholes: Both clubs have referred the case to the Non-League Football Board, who've announced they'll be investigating the problem between the teams over the coming weeks. Back to you Keith.

Keith McQueen: Thanks Andy.

(Start fading up news music)
